The story<\/p>\n
In the 13th century, around the castle of the Marches, 3 other castles, BELLEGARDE, VAUCHER and LA VIOLETTE inserted advantageously in the defensive apparatus extra muros of the Bourg des Marches designed by Am\u00e9d\u00e9e V Comte de Savoie to protect it from the belligerent companies of Dauphin\u00e9 .<\/p>\n
These three castles dominated the plain of the upper Gr\u00e9sivaudan where for nearly five centuries dauphinois and Savoys clashed in search of a safe and recognized border.<\/p>\n
The Ch\u00e2teau de la Villette (its historical name) overlooks Lake St Andr\u00e9 and the southern region of Abymes. At its feet lies the place called “Poisy” which evokes, according to the eminent historian of our beautiful region, Abbot F\u00e9lix BERNARD, the old villa PUSEIS.<\/p>\n
Let us note that an act of 1265 mentions that Messire Gonthier de Brian\u00e7on, possessor of the castle of Bellecombe whose imposing ruins astonish the walkers, transfers to the bishop of Grenoble the rights of suzerainty which he exerts on Francin, Favra (hamlet of St Jeoire Prieur\u00e9) and the VILLETTE.<\/p>\n
This act shows that the castle of La Villette is undoubtedly older than the castle and the market town whose construction did not begin until April 1301. Its name suggests that it belonged to the small town of Pusey authorizes us to formulate the hypothesis that the castle would have succeeded to an older building which was part of a Puseis defensive apparatus very necessary in these troubled times of chronic insecurity.<\/p>\n
The castle of La Villette has been remodeled several times and if the present appearance of the building borrowed a lot in the 15th and 16th centuries, it also contains vestiges of the 17th and 18th centuries.<\/p>\n
We do not know the names of the first owners of La Villette. We know however that in 1622, the owner Philibert de Chabert bequeaths it to his nephews, the Noyel de Bellegarde. The latter will sell the estate in 1830 to COSTA de BEAUREGARD, who will sell it to the GOUVERT family, which will be separated for the benefit of the VIVIAND family.<\/p>\n
It is today the property of the descendants of the family who acquired it in 1955 while the outbuildings and vineyards purchased by the FUSTINONI family have since 2000 become a vineyard managed by Charles-Henri Gayet where you can taste the excellent wines of our soil.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
